You did kind of react a bit nastily and that is childish but it happens when we're hurt. Let him cool off and stop contacting him for now. Don't message him unless he messages you first and then be cool and don't beg his forgiveness. He needs to see that you can be grown up about this too. The more you message him the further away you will push him so let him calm down.
