Perhaps you can explain the criminal mind to me? Why someone would steal my gun and then trash it?

Personally in my opinion the gun was damaged while in the custody of the police dept. If it is their custom to render a gun inoperable by throwing away the clip, that mindset could easily be the reason for the damage done to your pistol. What a strange world we live in. The police are sometimes worse then the criminals they supposedly protect us from.But who will protect us from the police?
